In that nest lives a glorious crow named Bhushunda, free from craving, resting in that great hollow like Brahma seated in his own lotus.

What the Yoga Vasishtha is
A long Sanskrit work built as a single conversation. Prince Rama comes home from a pilgrimage unable to take any pleasure in his own life, and in front of his father’s court the family teacher Vasishtha answers him — mostly with stories, whose people tell more stories. The answer runs to some twenty-eight thousand verses.
Also spelled Yoga Vasistha, Yoga Vashishta, Yoga Vashishtha, Yoga Vasishta, Yog Vasishtha or Yogavasishtha, and also known as the Maha Ramayana or Vasishtha Ramayana. The Sanskrit is given in Devanagari and IAST, and the whole text is searchable in either script. Read the introduction →
