भुशुण्ड उवाच । अबुद्ध्यमानश्चेत्यादिचिद्रूपमपि चानघ । शान्तचिद्धन एवास्व निर्मलाप्स्वन्तरंशुवत् ॥ १ ॥
bhushuṇḍa uvāca | abuddhyamānaścetyādicidrūpamapi cānagha | śāntaciddhana evāsva nirmalāpsvantaraṃśuvat || 1 ||
Bhushunda said: O sinless one, even the form of consciousness, which is not perceived, is pure and tranquil within itself, like the rays of the sun.
भुशुण्ड ने कहा: हे निष्पाप, जो चेतना का रूप नहीं समझा जाता, वह भी शान्त और निर्मल है, जैसे सूर्य की किरणें.
अचेतनं चेतनान्तश्चेतनादेव विद्यते । स्वेऽसादृश्येऽपि सदृशं पयोराशौ यथानलः ॥ २ ॥
acetanaṃ cetanāntaścetanādeva vidyate | sve'sādṛśye'pi sadṛśaṃ payorāśau yathānalaḥ || 2 ||
The non-conscious arises from consciousness itself, even though it is dissimilar, just as fire in a water-filled pot.
अचेतन चेतना से ही उत्पन्न होता है, भले ही यह असमान हो, जैसे पानी से भरे घड़े में आग।
सचेतनाचेतनयोर्हेतुश्चित्त्वात्तथैव चित् । विनाशोत्पादयोर्वह्निज्वालायाः पवनो यथा ॥ ३ ॥
sacetanācetanayorhetuścittvāttathaiva cit | vināśotpādayorvahñijvālāyāḥ pavano yathā || 3 ||
The cause of both the conscious and the non-conscious is consciousness itself, just as the wind is the cause of the creation and destruction of a flame.
चेतन और अचेतन दोनों का कारण चेतना ही है, जैसे हवा लौ के उत्पन्न और विनाश का कारण होती है।
नाहमस्तीति चिद्रूपं चिति विश्रान्तिरस्तु ते । ततो यथा यादृशेन भूयते तादृशो भव ॥ ४ ॥
nāhamastīti cidrūpaṃ citi viśrāntirastu te | tato yathā yādṛśena bhūyate tādṛśo bhava || 4 ||
May you rest in the form of consciousness, knowing 'I am not.' From that, become whatever you are meant to be.
चेतना के रूप में विश्राम करो, जानते हुए 'मैं नहीं हूँ।' उससे, जो भी तुम बनने के लिए नियत हो, वही बनो।
चिद्रूपः सर्वभावानामन्तर्बहिरसि स्थितः । प्रसन्नाम्बुभरस्यान्तर्बहिश्चैव यथा पयः ॥ ५ ॥
cidrūpaḥ sarvabhāvānāmantarbahirasi sthitaḥ | prasannāmbubharasyāntarbahiścaiva yathā payaḥ || 5 ||
The form of consciousness is present within and without all beings, just as water is present within and without a clear water-filled vessel.
चेतना का रूप सभी भावों के अंदर और बाहर स्थित है, जैसे पानी एक साफ पानी से भरे पात्र के अंदर और बाहर स्थित है।
नाहमस्तीति चिद्रूपं चितौ चेल्लग्नमङ्ग ते । न चान्यच्चेतितं ब्रह्म रूपं केनोपमीयते ॥ ६ ॥
nāhamastīti cidrūpaṃ citau cellagnamanga te | na cānyaccecitaṃ brahma rūpaṃ kenopamīyate || 6 ||
I am not, this is the form of consciousness | In consciousness, this is perceived as a limb of yours | There is no other consciousness, Brahma's form, how can it be compared?

sasurāsurapātālabhūviṣṭapamivouṣitam | nānābhāvājavībhāvakriyākālamivākulam || 7 ||
As if inhabited by gods, demons, and the underworld, the earth and heaven | As if disturbed by various states, behaviors, actions, and times
जैसे देवताओं, असुरों और पाताल से आबाद है, पृथ्वी और स्वर्ग | जैसे विभिन्न अवस्थाओं, व्यवहारों, क्रियाओं और समयों से व्याकुल है
यथा रङ्गमयं कुड्ये जगन्मौनमिव स्थितम् । तथा चिच्चित्रकचितं खे कुड्ये चात्मसंस्थितम् ॥ ८ ॥
yathā raṅgamayaṃ kuḍye jagannmaunamiva sthitam | tathā ciccitra kacitaṃ khe kuḍye cātmasaṃsthitam || 8 ||
Just as a painting is on a wall, the world appears as if silent | Similarly, the diverse consciousness is in the sky, on the wall, and situated in the self
जैसे एक पेंटिंग दीवार पर होती है, वैसे ही दुनिया मौन सी लगती है | इसी तरह, विविध चेतना आकाश में, दीवार पर, और आत्मा में स्थित है
तेनैव भूयते भूरि यच्चित्तं कचितं स्वतः । अचेतनं चेतनं वा यथेच्छसि तथा कुरु ॥ ९ ॥
tenaiva bhūyate bhūri yaccittaṃ kacitaṃ svataḥ | acetanaṃ cetanaṃ vā yathecchasi tathā kuru || 9 ||
By that alone, the world becomes abundant, which is painted by the mind itself | Whether it is inanimate or animate, do as you wish
उसी से, दुनिया पर्याप्त हो जाती है, जो मन द्वारा ही पेंट की जाती है | चाहे वह जड़ हो या चेतन, जैसा तुम चाहो वैसा करो
चिच्चमत्कृतयो व्योम्नि स्फुरन्त्येता जगत्तया । अर्कांशुवदरोधिन्यः स्वच्छा विदितवेदिनाम् ॥ १० ॥
ciccmatkṛtayo vyomni sphurantyetā jagattayā | arkāṃśuvadarodhinyaḥ svacchā viditavedinām || 10 ||
The wonders of consciousness shine in the sky, manifesting the world | Like the rays of the sun, they are pure and known to the knowledgeable
चेतना के चमत्कार आकाश में चमकते हैं, दुनिया को प्रकट करते हुए | सूर्य की किरणों की तरह, वे शुद्ध हैं और ज्ञानी लोगों को ज्ञात हैं
तिमिराक्रान्तदृष्टीनां यथा केशोण्ड्रकादि खे । स्फुरत्येवं जगद्रूपमनात्मन्येव तिष्ठताम् ॥ ११ ॥
timirākrāntadṛṣṭīnāṃ yathā keśoṇḍrakādi khe | sphuratyevaṃ jagadrūpamanātmanyeva tiṣṭhatām || 11 ||
Just as those whose vision is obscured by darkness see a hair or a piece of cotton in the sky, similarly, the world appears to exist in the non-self.
जैसे जिनकी दृष्टि अंधेरे से ढकी होती है, वे आकाश में बाल या रूई की तरह देखते हैं, वैसे ही जगत का रूप अनात्म में स्थित प्रतीत होता है।
एवं जगत्त्वमहमित्यवबोधरूपमाभासमात्रमुदितं न च नोदितं च । अर्कांशुजालरचनानगराभमत्र कुड्यादि सत्यमिदमस्ति न खे लतेव ॥ १२ ॥
evaṃ jagattvamahamityavabodharūpamābhāsamātramuditaṃ na ca noditaṃ ca | arkāṃśujālaracanānagarābhamatra kuḍyādi satyamidamasti na khe lateva || 12 ||
Thus, the world, which appears as the notion 'I am this,' is merely an illusion, neither real nor unreal. It is like the reflection of a city in a mirror, which seems real but is not actually in the sky.
इस प्रकार, जगत, जो 'मैं यह हूँ' के रूप में प्रतीत होता है, मात्र एक भ्रम है, न तो वास्तविक है और न ही अवास्तविक। यह दर्पण में नगर की प्रतिबिंब की तरह है, जो वास्तविक प्रतीत होता है लेकिन आकाश में वास्तव में नहीं होता।
