भुशुण्ड उवाच । विद्याधर धराधारो गिरिकन्दरमन्दिरः । दिगन्तराम्बराचारचारसंचारचञ्चरः ॥ १ ॥
bhushuṇḍa uvāca | vidyādhara dharādhāro girikandaramandiraḥ | digantarāmbarācāracārasaṃcāracañcaraḥ || 1 ||
Bhushunda said: The bearer of knowledge, the supporter of the earth, the abode of the mountain peaks, the one who moves in the sky and wanders in all directions.
भुशुण्ड ने कहा: विद्याधर, धरती का धारक, पर्वत की चोटियों का निवास, आकाश में विचरण करने वाला, सभी दिशाओं में भटकने वाला।
ईदृशोऽयं जगद्वृक्षो जायतेऽहंत्वबीजतः । बीजे ज्ञानाग्निनिर्दग्धे नैव किंचन जायते ॥ २ ॥
īdṛśo'yaṃ jagadvṛkṣo jāyate'haṃtvabījataḥ | bīje jñānāgninirdagdhe naiva kiṃcana jāyate || 2 ||
Such is this tree of the world, which arises from the seed of ego. When the seed is burned by the fire of knowledge, nothing arises.
ऐसा ही यह विश्व का वृक्ष है, जो अहंकार के बीज से उत्पन्न होता है। जब बीज ज्ञान की अग्नि से जल जाता है, तब कुछ भी उत्पन्न नहीं होता।
प्रेक्ष्यमाणं च तन्नास्ति किलाहंत्वं कदाचनेतावदेव तज्ज्ञानमनेनैव प्रदह्यते ॥ ३ ॥
prekṣyamāṇaṃ ca tannāsti kilāhaṃtvaṃ kadācanaetāvadeva tajjñānamanenaiva pradahyate || 3 ||
That which is seen does not exist, for ego never exists. Only to that extent is knowledge burned by it.
जो देखा जाता है, वह अस्तित्व में नहीं होता, क्योंकि अहंकार कभी नहीं होता। केवल उस हद तक ही ज्ञान उससे जल जाता है।
अहंत्वभावाच्चाहंत्वमस्ति संसारबीजकम् । नाहंत्वभावान्नाहंत्वमस्तीति ज्ञानमुत्तमम् ॥ ४ ॥
ahaṃtvabhāvācca'haṃtvaṃmasti saṃsārabījakam | nāhaṃtvabhāvānnāhaṃtvaṃmastīti jñānamuttamam || 4 ||
From the existence of ego, there is ego, which is the seed of the world. From the non-existence of ego, there is no ego; this is the supreme knowledge.
अहंकार के अस्तित्व से अहंकार होता है, जो संसार का बीज है। अहंकार के अनस्तित्व से अहंकार नहीं होता; यही उत्तम ज्ञान है।
सर्गादावेव सर्गस्य किलास्याभावयोगतः । कुतोऽहंत्वं कुतस्त्वंत्वं कुतो द्वित्वैक्यविभ्रमः ॥ ५ ॥
sargādāveva sargasya kilāsyābhāvayogataḥ | kuto'haṃtvaṃ kutastvaṃtvaṃ kuto dvitvaikyavibhramaḥ || 5 ||
From the very beginning of creation, due to the union with non-existence, where is ego, where is the sense of self, where is the delusion of duality and oneness?
सृष्टि के आरंभ से ही, अनस्तित्व के साथ एकता के कारण, अहंकार कहाँ है, स्वयं का भाव कहाँ है, द्वैत और एकता का भ्रम कहाँ है?
समाकर्ण्य गुरोर्वाक्यं यतन्ते ये स्वयत्नतः । संकल्पत्यागमामूलं पदप्राप्तौ जयन्ति ते ॥ ६ ॥
samākarṇya gurorvākyaṃ yatante ye svayatnataḥ | saṃkalpatyāgamāmūlaṃ padaprāptau jayanti te || 6 ||
Those who, having heard the words of the Guru, strive with their own efforts, attain success in reaching the goal by renouncing their desires.
जो गुरु के वचन सुनकर अपने प्रयास से प्रयत्न करते हैं, वे अपनी इच्छाओं का त्याग करके लक्ष्य प्राप्ति में सफल होते हैं।
रन्धनाज्जयमाप्नोति स्वशास्त्रे सूपकृत्कृते । विवेकी स्वविवेकित्वं यतनादेव नान्यथा ॥ ७ ॥
randhanājjayamāpnoti svaśāstre sūpakṛtkṛte | vivekī svavivekitvaṃ yatanādeva nānyathā || 7 ||
One attains victory through cooking in one's own well-prepared scripture. A wise person attains self-discernment only through effort, not otherwise.
किसी व्यक्ति को अपने अच्छे तरीके से तैयार किए गए शास्त्र में पकाने से विजय प्राप्त होती है। एक विवेकी व्यक्ति प्रयास के द्वारा ही आत्म-विवेक प्राप्त करता है, अन्यथा नहीं।
चिच्चमत्कारमात्रं त्वं जगद्विद्धीह नेतरत् । नाशासु न बहिर्नान्तरेतत्क्वचन विद्यते ॥ ८ ॥
ciccamatkāramātraṃ tvaṃ jagadviddhīha netarat | nāśāsu na bahirnāntaretatkvacana vidyate || 8 ||
You should know the world as mere wonder of consciousness, nothing else. It does not exist in desires, nor outside, nor inside, nor anywhere else.
आपको संसार को चेतना के आश्चर्य के रूप में जानना चाहिए, कुछ और नहीं। यह इच्छाओं में नहीं है, न बाहर, न अंदर, न कहीं और।
संकल्पोन्मेषमात्रेण जगच्चित्रं विलोक्यते । तदनुन्मेषविलयि चित्रकृच्चित्तचित्रवत् ॥ ९ ॥
saṃkalponmeṣamātreṇa jagaccitraṃ vilokyate | tadanunmeṣavilayi citrakṛccittacitravat || 9 ||
With just the opening of the eyes of intention, the varied world is seen. When that opening is dissolved, it is like the painter's mind, full of varied pictures.
केवल इरादे की आँखों के खुलने से विविध संसार दिखाई देता है। जब वह खुलना विलीन हो जाता है, तो यह चित्रकार के मन की तरह होता है, जो विविध चित्रों से भरा होता है।
मण्डपोऽस्ति महास्तम्भो मुक्तामणिविनिर्मितः । बहुयोजनलक्षाणि कान्तकाञ्चनचित्रितः ॥ १० ॥
maṇḍapo'sti mahāstambho muktāmaṇivinirmitaḥ | bahuyojanalakṣāṇi kāntakāñcanacitritaḥ || 10 ||
There is a grand pavilion with a great pillar, made of pearls and gems, adorned with many beautiful golden ornaments.
वहाँ एक विशाल पैविलियन है जिसमें एक महान स्तंभ है, जो मोती और रत्नों से बना है, और कई सुंदर सोने के आभूषणों से सजा है।
मणिस्तम्भसहस्रेण वृतोऽग्रे प्रोतमेरुणा । इन्द्रायुधसहस्राढ्यकल्पसंध्याभ्रसुन्दरः ॥ ११ ॥
maṇistambhasahasreṇa vṛto'gre protameruṇā | indrāyudhasahasrāḍhyakalpasandhyābhrasundaraḥ || 11 ||
Surrounded by thousands of jewel-studded pillars at the front, covered with the best silk, beautiful like the clouds at dusk adorned with thousands of Indra's weapons.
हजारों मणि स्तम्भों से घिरा हुआ, आगे रेशम से ढका हुआ, इन्द्र के हजारों अस्त्रों से सुशोभित, संध्या के बादलों की तरह सुंदर।
स्त्रीबालपुरुषादीनां वास्तव्यानामितस्ततः । क्रीडार्थं स्थापिता यत्र नानारचनयान्तरे ॥ १२ ॥
strībālapuruṣādīnāṃ vāstavyānāmitastataḥ | krīḍārthaṃ sthāpitā yatra nānāracanayāntare || 12 ||
For the residence of women, children, and men, various arrangements are made here and there for playful purposes.
स्त्रियों, बच्चों और पुरुषों के निवास के लिए, यहाँ-वहाँ खेल-कूद के लिए विभिन्न व्यवस्थाएँ की गई हैं।
भूतबीजपरापूर्णास्तमोरिपुसघुंघुमाः । तमःप्रकाशचित्राख्या लोकान्तरसमुद्गकाः ॥ १३ ॥
bhūtabījaparāpūrṇāstamoripusaghughumāḥ | tamaḥprakāśacitrākhyā lokāntarasamudgakāḥ || 13 ||
Filled with the essence of all beings, they are the destroyers of darkness, known as the pictures of light and darkness, and are the granaries of other worlds.
सभी प्राणियों की आत्मा से भरपूर, वे अंधकार के नाशक हैं, प्रकाश और अंधकार की तस्वीरें कहलाती हैं, और दूसरे लोकों के भंडार हैं।
आमोदसुभगा लोलजलदावलिपल्लवाः । लीलापद्माकरे स्त्रीणां विलूनाकल्पपादपाः ॥ १४ ॥
āmodasubhagā lolajaladāvalipallavāḥ | līlāpadmākare strīṇāṃ vilūnākalpapādapāḥ || 14 ||
Beautiful with fragrance, swaying like rows of clouds, they are like lotus flowers in the playful pond of women, like wish-fulfilling trees with drooping branches.
सुगंध से सुंदर, बादलों की पंक्तियों की तरह लहराते हुए, वे स्त्रियों के खेल के तालाब में कमल के फूलों की तरह हैं, झुके हुए डालों वाले कल्पवृक्षों की तरह।
बालनिःश्वासचलिताः कन्दुकानि कुलाचलाः । संध्याम्बुदाः कर्णपूराश्चामराः शरदम्बुदाः ॥ १५ ॥
bālaniḥśvāsacalitāḥ kandukāni kulācalāḥ | sandhyāmbudāḥ karṇapūrāścāmarāḥ śaradambudāḥ || 15 ||
Moved by the breath of children, the balls are like mountains, the evening clouds are like earrings, and the autumn clouds are like fly whisks.
बच्चों की साँसों से हिलते हुए, गेंद पहाड़ों की तरह हैं, संध्या के बादल कर्णफूलों की तरह हैं, और शरद के बादल चौरी की तरह हैं।
कल्पान्तकालजलदास्तालवृन्तपदं गताः । भूतलं द्यूतफलकं वितानं तारकाम्बरम् ॥ १६ ॥
kalpāntakālajaladāstālavṛntapadaṃ gatāḥ | bhūtalaṃ dyūtaphalakaṃ vitānaṃ tārakāmbaram || 16 ||
At the end of the cosmic cycle, the clouds of destruction descend upon the earth, transforming it into a gaming board, with the sky as the canopy of stars.
कल्पान्त के समय विनाशकारी बादल धरती पर उतरते हैं, जिससे धरती एक खेल का बोर्ड बन जाती है, और आकाश तारों का छत बन जाता है।
भूतशारपरावर्ते द्यूतेऽक्षाः शशिभानवः । व्योमाजिरे जगद्भासपणे गृहनिवासिनाम् ॥ १७ ॥
bhūtaśāraparāvarte dyūte'kṣāḥ śaśibhānavaḥ | vyomājire jagadbhāsapāṇe gṛhanivāsinām || 17 ||
In the cycle of existence, the dice of the moon's phases roll, and the stars in the sky become the stakes in the game of the universe's illumination for the inhabitants of the houses.
अस्तित्व के चक्र में, चंद्रमा के चरणों के पासे लुढ़कते हैं, और आकाश के तारे ब्रह्मांड की प्रकाश की बाजी बन जाते हैं, घरों के निवासियों के लिए।
इति संकल्प एवान्तश्चिरभावनया यथा । अग्रस्थदृश्योपमया सत्यतामिव गच्छति ॥ १८ ॥
iti saṃkalpa evāntaścirabhāvanayā yathā | agrasthadṛśyopamayā satyatāmiva gacchati || 18 ||
Thus, the resolution itself comes to an end through prolonged contemplation, just as an object placed in front appears to be real.
इस प्रकार, संकल्प स्वयं लंबी ध्यान से अंत तक पहुंचता है, जैसे सामने रखा हुआ वस्तु वास्तविक प्रतीत होता है।
तथैवायं जगद्रूपः संकल्पैः सुसमुत्थितः । चिच्चमत्कारमात्रात्मा चित्रकृच्चित्तचित्रवत् ॥ १९ ॥
tathaivāyaṃ jagadrūpaḥ saṃkalpaiḥ susamutthitaḥ | ciccmatkāramātrātmā citrakṛccittacitravat || 19 ||
Similarly, this world form is well-arisen from resolutions, being the essence of pure consciousness and wonder, like a painter with a mind full of pictures.
इसी प्रकार, यह जगत् रूप संकल्पों से उत्पन्न है, शुद्ध चेतना और आश्चर्य का सार है, जैसे एक चित्रकार जिसके मन में चित्र भरे हों।
असत्यमेव स्फुरति सर्वमस्ति च नास्ति च । असदुत्थित एवायं कुतोपीव समुत्थितः ॥ २० ॥
asatyameva sphurati sarvamasti ca nāsti ca | asadutthita evāyaṃ kutopīva samutthitaḥ || 20 ||
Only the unreal appears; everything exists and does not exist. Arisen from the unreal, from where has this even arisen?
केवल असत्य ही प्रकट होता है; सब कुछ है और नहीं भी है। असत् से उत्पन्न, यह कहां से उत्पन्न हुआ है?
हेम्नीव कटकादित्वं संसारोदरकोटरः । चिच्चमत्कार एवायमविकल्पनसंक्षयः ॥ २१ ॥
hemnīva kaṭakāditvaṃ saṃsārodarakoṭaraḥ | ciccamatkāra evāyamavikalpanasaṃkṣayaḥ || 21 ||
Just as the golden ornament is the essence of gold, this world is the essence of consciousness, which is the wonder of the self, free from all doubts.
जैसे सोने का आभूषण सोने का सार होता है, वैसे ही यह संसार चेतना का सार है, जो स्वयं का चमत्कार है, सभी संदेहों से मुक्त है।
अत्यन्तमेव स्वायत्तो यथेच्छसि तथा कुरु । यश्चान्नपानदानादावनादरमुपेयिवान् । तस्येदं पश्चिमं जन्म न स कर्म समुज्झति ॥ २२ ॥
atyantameva svāyatto yathecchasi tathā kuru | yaścānnapānadānādāvanādaramupeyivān | tasyedaṃ paścimaṃ janma na sa karma samujjhati || 22 ||
You are completely independent; do as you wish. One who shows disrespect in giving food and water, for them, this life is the last, and they do not abandon their karma.
आप पूर्णतः स्वतंत्र हैं; जैसे चाहो वैसा करो। जो भोजन और पानी देने में अनादर करता है, उनके लिए यह जीवन अंतिम है, और वे अपने कर्म को नहीं छोड़ते।
प्राप्तो विवेकपदवीमसि पावनात्मन्पुण्यां पवित्रितजगत्त्रितया द्वितीयाम् । नाधः पतिष्यसि पुनर्मनसाऽमुनेति जानामि मौनममलं पदमुत्सृज त्वम् ॥ २३ ॥
prāpto vivekapadavīmasi pāvanātmanpuṇyāṃ pavitritajagattritayā dvitīyām | nādhaḥ patiṣyasi punarmansasāmuneti jānāmi maunamamalaṃ padamutsṛja tvam || 23 ||
You have attained the second stage of pure wisdom, which purifies the three worlds. You will not fall again; I know this. Abandon the impure state of silence.
