śrīrāma uvāca | anādimadhyaparyantaṃ na devā narṣayo viduḥ | yatpadaṃ tadidaṃ bhāti kva jagatkva ca dṛśyatā || 1 ||
Shri Rama said: Neither the gods nor the sages know the beginning, middle, or end of that which is eternal. That eternal reality is what shines here. Where is the world, and where is the perception of it?
Doubts and confusions arising from the discussions on duality and non-duality are futile. Our ultimate goal is the primordial, flawless form that is eternal peace.
In the vast expanse of the sky, there is a state of tranquility as it is. Similarly, in the vast expanse of consciousness, the three worlds shine forth.
Just as the nature of the sky is inherent in the sky, and the nature of the seer is inherent in the seer, similarly, the nature of water is inherent in water, and the nature of the world is inherent in consciousness.
Know that the entire visible world, including the ego and other elements, expanded in the vast space of consciousness, is the great abode of consciousness, which is tranquil and described as emptiness.
sarvaṃ sadaivāhamanantamekaṃ na kiṃcidevāpyathavātiśāntaḥ | sarvaṃ na kiṃcicca sadekamasmī na cāsmi cetīyamaho nu śāntiḥ || 16 ||
I am always the eternal, infinite one, not anything else, or very peaceful. I am everything and nothing, the eternal one, I am not, or this is wonderful peace.
That which is attained, unattainable, obtained, unobtained, gone elsewhere, this is insignificant, the whole of existence. That which is risen, risen knowledge, such that there is no more setting or rising, not even the name of setting or rising.
