That very thing, which is merely the nature of space, remains thus for a long time. This, having obtained the nature of a mental impression, abandons its mental nature.
Just as in a dream, consciousness alone appears as a city in the sky, similarly, consciousness alone is established as this universe at the beginning of creation.
cidrūpasya ātmano nānyaḥ saṃkalpas tanmayam jagat | vastutas tu na satyātma na piṇḍātma na bhāsuram || 13 ||
There is no other resolve of the self, which is of the nature of consciousness, than this world which is permeated by it. In reality, it is neither true, nor gross, nor luminous.
dṛśyam asty aparijñātaṃ parijñātaṃ na vidyate | parijñātaṃ tadevāsya śṛṇoṣi yad idaṃ ciram || 14 ||
The visible exists as long as it is not known. Once known, it does not exist. That which is known is the eternal truth you hear about.
Just as a gem, by its nature, appears to have various colors like white and yellow, similarly, the consciousness-space creates the world without doing anything.
The confusion of the three worlds and their beings, which exist in the three times, is like a dream or imagination, situated in the state of the mind's kingdom.
cinmātrametadajaraṃ paramātmatattvaṃ śuddhātmatāmajahadaṅgagataṃ bibharti | sarvaṃ yathāsthitamidaṃ jagadāttabhedaṃ buddhaṃ sadaṅga na bibharti tu kiṃcanāpi || 25 ||
This is merely consciousness, eternal, the supreme reality of the self, bearing pure self-nature without the body. The entire world, as it is, without distinction, is perceived, always with the body, but does not bear anything at all.
