The sage said: In all states of existence and non-existence, which are like dreams and are eternal and unobstructed, what is bound and what is liberated?
The earth, water, air, and mountains, all these become non-existent in an instant. In that very instant, the designations of yugas and kalpas are made.
Some see a lake, others an ocean, and still others a well, each in their own place. They do not know each other's perceptions or the limitations of their views.
The qualities and attributes are bestowed upon the one who possesses the nature of pure consciousness | The image, which is powerful, does not have separate qualities and attributes
apūrvatvātsmṛtiḥ svapnaḥ saṃkalpārthānubhūtiṣu | svamṛtyanubhavādyāstu dṛṣṭārthasadṛśīṣu ca || 12 ||
Due to its uniqueness, memory and dreams are experienced in the form of intentions and perceptions | However, experiences such as one's own death are similar to perceived objects
This creation, which is the essence of creation, manifests as an image | Pure consciousness, which is the essence of luminosity, does not fit any other name
That which appears in dreams and the like as something novel is called an example. It is said to be due to impressions, etc. There is no external object in the mind.
vastu dṛṣṭaṃ na dṛṣṭaṃ ca saccāste cetanevakhe | svabhāvādbhāti svātmāpi dṛṣṭavaccātijṛmbhate || 17 ||
The object seen is not seen, and it exists like consciousness in the sky. By its own nature, the self also appears, and it greatly expands like the seen.
The non-existence of the previous creation is explained by the meaning of Vedanta. From that, the arrangement of the knowable is made by the knowers for the accomplishment of their own purpose.
In dreams, however, the impression of the waking state is that which is newly created in the waking state. The knowers say that it is a reflection of the non-waking in the waking.
tato vāyāviva spandāścitte bhāvāḥ sthitāḥ svataḥ | te svataḥ saṃpravartante kātra saṃskārakartṛtā || 20 ||
Then, like the vibrations in the air, the mental states are established by themselves. They spontaneously manifest, where is the agency of impressions?
The pure consciousness, which is one and the same, exists in the form of subtle impressions in dreams. From these impressions, the dream arises, and then it merges back into the state of deep sleep.
Thus, the world exists within the supreme atom of consciousness. It is non-different from it and enjoys itself, like reflections in a dream or a mirror.
The space of consciousness, which is pure awareness, is spread out like an atom. It is without beginning, middle, or end, and that itself is called the world.
Therefore, wherever there is the eternal, infinite space of consciousness, there exists the universe, which is of the nature of that consciousness and nothing else.
The sage said | This creation begins without cause at the beginning | Because of the absence of all causes, therefore, the creation is without consciousness
The hunter said | If the visible is without cause, how does this become established? If the visible is with cause, then where does the idea of creation in a dream come from?
anānātve'pi nānātve brahmaṇyabrahmarūpiṇi anākāre'pi sākāre kacatyapratighaṃ prati || 40 ||
Even in the non-diversity, there is diversity in Brahman, which is not in the form of Brahman. Even in the formless, there is form. It shines without opposition.
That Brahman alone is formless, due to its nature of consciousness, it appears as if it has form, becoming the self, it becomes the moving and the non-moving.
The divine sages and seers, in their various forms, create destiny in an orderly manner, including rules and prohibitions related to place, time, and action.
saṃniveśo hi niyatistāṃ vinā pratighodayam | brahma sthātuṃ na śaknoti tacca sarvātmatākṣayam || 47 ||
Indeed, the establishment of the universe without destiny is not possible | Brahma cannot exist without it, and that is the eternal essence of all souls
In creation, which is like the game of a crow and a palm fruit, there is repetition and non-repetition | Thus, destiny is established as 'this is so, this is not so'
sarvavastuṣu kacanti sarvadā yuktayaḥ sphaṭikaśuktayo yathā | bhāvanānubhava eva sa svayaṃ śaktimāñjayati jīvitātmakaḥ || 53 ||
In all things, at all times, the connections are like crystal and oyster shells. That very experience of contemplation is victorious, being the life force.
