muniruvāca | akāraṇatvātsargādāvevānutpādataḥ sphuṭāt | ajñātau sargaśabdārthāveva na sto manāgapi || 6 ||
The sage said: Due to the absence of cause, there is no creation at all. Even in the state of ignorance, the meaning of the word 'creation' does not exist.
Therefore, in the auspicious doctrine, having understood your position, in the word that is the beginningless and endless, the foolishness is calmed, and it is supremely purifying.
I speak this in the consciousness of the fool: whatever it is, I do not know. This is the mere appearance of reality and unreality, and it is pervaded by consciousness.
kva śarīraṃ kva hṛdayaṃ kva svapnaḥ kva jalādi ca | kva bodho bodhavicchittiḥ kva janmamaraṇādi ca || 10 ||
Where is the body? Where is the heart? Where is the dream? Where is water and so on? Where is consciousness? Where is the fluctuation of consciousness? Where is birth, death, and so on?
Here, there is only pure consciousness, which is known by different names depending on the perspective. Just as a mountain appears large from a distance but small when close, the same applies to the subtle and gross aspects of reality.
By its nature, that pure consciousness is the sky of consciousness, which slightly moves due to thought. That which knows the world as the sky of consciousness is the body of space itself.
This peaceful, non-manifest, non-dual reality does not exist in the self. In the consciousness, vision, darkness, and space, it appears like a wheel of fire.
That pure (śuddhaṃ) something (kimapi) shines (bhāti) as self-experienced (svānubhūtam) clearly (sphuṭam)| That which is inexpressible (avācya), without beginning or end (anādyanta), one (ekaṃ), devoid of duality and unity (dvaitaikyavarjitam) || 17 ||
Just as one time (ekaḥ kālaḥ) is like an eon (kalpaḥ), and light (prakāśaḥ) is of both natures (ubhayātmakaḥ)| Similarly, the seed (bījaṃ) or the fruit and flower (phalapuṣpāntaṃ) is Brahman, the essence of all (sarvātmakaṃ) || 18 ||
What is a great wall (mahatkuḍya) for one is a clear sky (amalaṃ nabhaḥ) for another| This is seen in the realms of stable dreams, imaginations, and illusions || 19 ||
Then that pure (svacchaṃ) one (tadā) shines (bhāti) as the self alone (ātmaikaṃ), like the pure sky (cinmātra khaṃ yathā)| In dream (svapne) it is like the waking state (jāgṛtivat), and in the waking state (jāgrat) it is like the dream (svapne), not otherwise || 20 ||
The sage said: In the beginning of creation, those who are self-born like Brahma and others, their bodies are mere cognitions. They do not have birth or karma.
Just as Brahma and others shine at the beginning of creation in the form of Brahma| Similarly, other beings also shine in hundreds and thousands|| 27 ||
kintu ye brahmaṇo'nyatvaṃ budhyante sāttvikodbhavāḥ| abodhā ye tvacidākhyaṃ buddhvā dvaitamidaṃ svayam|| 28 ||
However, those who perceive duality due to their sattvic nature are ignorant| Those who realize the non-dual nature of consciousness perceive this duality themselves|| 28 ||
Brahman alone is the creation, the essence of beings, action, birth, and all concepts. It appears to be doing all this due to its all-pervading nature and imagined meanings.
In the creation, when the creation is established, there arises the concept of previous actions. Later, these living beings wander, bound by the bonds of karma.
yannāma kila nāstyeva tacchāntau kā kadarthanā | paramārthādṛte bandhaḥ kiṃcinnāma na vidyate || 45 ||
That which has no name indeed does not exist. In peace, what is the point of discussion? Apart from the ultimate reality, there is no bondage whatsoever.
tāvanmāyā bhavabhayakarī paṇḍitatvaṃ na yāvattatpāṇḍityaṃ patasi na punaryena saṃsāracakre | yatnaṃ kuryādaviratamataḥ paṇḍitatve'malātmajñānodāre bhayamitarathā naiva vaḥ śāntimeti || 46 ||
Until one does not attain true knowledge, one remains entangled in the fear of worldly existence. Therefore, one should strive continuously for pure knowledge of the Self. Otherwise, one does not attain peace.
