श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच । मत्तेन भूतवृन्देन किंचिच्छेषीकृते शवे । इदमूचुः पुनर्दिक्षु गिरौ देवाः सवासवाः ॥ १ ॥
śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca | matten bhūtavṛnden kiñcicchēṣīkṛte śave | idamūcuḥ punardikṣu girau devāḥ savāsavāḥ || 1 ||
Śrīvasiṣṭha said: With the intoxicated beings slightly remaining in the corpse, the gods along with the Vasus spoke again in the sky.
श्रीवसिष्ठ ने कहा: नशे में धुत प्राणियों के थोड़े से शेष शव में रहते हुए, देवताओं ने वसुओं के साथ फिर से आकाश में कहा।
विद्याधरामरविहारविमानभूमावप्यास्तृतान्यशिशिरीकरणाय भूतैः । मेदोमयानि पवनप्रसृतामलाभ्रखण्डाञ्चिताम्बरसमान्युरुजालकानि ॥ २ ॥
vidyādharāmaravihāravimānabhūmāvapyāstṛtānyaśiśirīkaraṇāya bhūtaiḥ | medomayāni pavanaprasṛtāmalābhra-khaṇḍāñcita-ambarasamānyurujālakāni || 2 ||
Even in the realms of Vidyadharas and Amaras, the beings have spread out to cool down, with fatty substances resembling large nets of dark clouds spread by the wind.

See the fatty substances spread even in the seven islands by the beings. The meat has been eaten, and the blood has been drunk; some of it has now become visible on the earth.

मेदःपटैरावलिताखिलाङ्गी कष्टं स्थिता संप्रति मोदना भूः । मेदोमयैः शारदमेघजालैः सकम्बलानीव वनानि भान्ति ॥ ४ ॥
medaḥpaṭairāvalitākhilāṅgī kaṣṭaṃ sthitā saṃprati modanā bhūḥ | medomayaiḥ śāradameghajālaiḥ sakambalānīva vanāni bhānti || 4 ||
The earth is now covered with layers of fat, making it difficult to stand, and it is joyful. The forests appear like covered with blankets of autumn clouds made of fat.
पृथ्वी अब वसा की परतों से ढकी हुई है, जिससे खड़े होना मुश्किल है, और यह आनंदित है। वन शरद ऋतु के बादलों की चादरों से ढके हुए लगते हैं जो वसा से बने हैं।
पञ्चैतानि तदस्थीनि संपन्नानि महाद्रयः । हिमाद्रिशिखराणीव स्थितान्यावार्य दिक्तटम् ॥ ५ ॥
pañcaitāni tadasthīni saṃpannāni mahādrayaḥ | himādriśikharāṇīva sthitānyāvārya diktaṭam || 5 ||
These five mountains are complete with their bones, resembling the peaks of the Himalayas, standing and covering the horizon.
ये पाँच पर्वत अपनी हड्डियों के साथ पूर्ण हैं, जो हिमालय की चोटियों के समान लगते हैं, खड़े होकर क्षितिज को ढकते हैं।
श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच । देवेषु कथयत्स्वेवं कृत्वेमां मेदिनीं धराम् । मेदोजालैः स भूतौघो मत्तो व्योम्नि ननर्त ह ॥ ६ ॥
śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca | deveṣu kathayatsvevaṃ kṛtvemāṃ medinīṃ dharām | medojālaiḥ sa bhūtaugho matto vyomni nanarta ha || 6 ||
Vasishtha said: While the gods were narrating thus, having made this earth, that host of beings, intoxicated with the net of fat, danced in the sky.
वसिष्ठ ने कहा: जब देवता ऐसे ही कह रहे थे, इस पृथ्वी को बनाकर, वह चर्म के जाल से मतवाला प्राणियों का समूह आकाश में नाच रहा था।
नृत्यत्सु भूतवृन्देषु शिष्टं रक्तं सुरैर्भुवः । एकप्रवाहेणैकस्मिन्निक्षिप्तं मकरालये ॥ ७ ॥
nṛtyatsu bhūtavṛndeṣu śiṣṭaṃ raktaṃ surairbhuvaḥ | ekapravāheṇaikasminnikṣiptaṃ makarālaye || 7 ||
While the groups of beings were dancing, the remaining blood of the earth was collected by the gods and poured into the ocean, the abode of the makara.
जब प्राणियों के समूह नाच रहे थे, तब पृथ्वी का शेष रक्त देवताओं द्वारा एकत्र किया गया और मकर के निवास स्थान, समुद्र में डाल दिया गया।
सुरार्णवं तमेवैनं संकल्पं विदधुः सुराः । ततःप्रभृति सोऽद्यापि संपन्नो मदिरार्णवः ॥ ८ ॥
surārṇavaṃ tamevainaṃ saṃkalpaṃ vidadhuḥ surāḥ | tataḥprabhṛti so'dyāpi saṃpanno madirārṇavaḥ || 8 ||
The gods made that very ocean their resolve. From that time onwards, it has been filled with intoxicating liquor.
देवताओं ने उसी समुद्र को अपना संकल्प बनाया। तब से आज तक, वह मदिरा से भरा हुआ है।
भूतानि नृत्तमाकाशे तानि कृत्वा पिबन्ति ताम् । मदिरां पुनराकाशे नृत्यन्त्यानन्दमन्दिरे ॥ ९ ॥
bhūtāni nṛttamākāśe tāni kṛtvā pibanti tām | madirāṃ punarākāśe nṛtyantyānandamandire || 9 ||
The beings, having danced in the sky, drink that intoxicating liquor. Then, in the sky, they dance again in the abode of bliss.
प्राणियों ने आकाश में नृत्य किया, और उस मदिरा को पी लिया। फिर, आकाश में, वे आनंद के निवास स्थान में पुनः नृत्य करते हैं।
पिबन्त्यद्यापि तानीव मदिरां मदिरार्णवात् । खे नृत्यन्ति च भूतानि सह योगेश्वरीगणैः ॥ १० ॥
pibantyadyāpi tānīva madirāṃ madirārṇavāt | khe nṛtyanti ca bhūtāni saha yogeśvarīgaṇaiḥ || 10 ||
Even today, they drink that intoxicating liquor from the ocean of liquor. In the sky, the beings dance along with the hosts of Yogeshvaris.
आज भी, वे उस मदिरा को मदिरा के समुद्र से पीते हैं। आकाश में, प्राणी योगेश्वरी समूहों के साथ नृत्य करते हैं।
तेषां तान्यथ भूतानां मेदोजालानि भूतलेविस्तृतान्यवशुष्काणि स्थितातो मेदिनी मही ॥ ११ ॥
teṣāṃ tānyatha bhūtānāṃ medojālāni bhūtalevistṛtānyavaśuṣkāṇi sthitāto medinī mahī || 11 ||
Those beings, having become different, their fatty tissues spread out on the earth, dried up and settled, the earth became great.
वे प्राणी, जो अलग हो गए थे, उनके चर्बी के जाल धरती पर फैल गए, सूख गए और स्थिर हो गए, धरती महान हो गई।
इति क्रमाच्छान्तिमुपागते शवे पुनः प्रवृत्ते दिनयामिनीक्रमेप्रजाः ससर्जाथ नवाः प्रजापतिः पुनः स सर्गोऽभवदत्र पूर्ववत् ॥ १२ ॥
iti kramācchāntimupāgate śave punaḥ pravṛtte dinayāminīkrameprajāḥ sasarjātha navāḥ prajāpatiḥ punaḥ sa sargo'bhavadatra pūrvavat || 12 ||
Thus, when the night ended and the day began again, Prajapati created new beings, and that creation happened here as before.
इस प्रकार, जब रात समाप्त हुई और दिन फिर से शुरू हुआ, तब प्रजापति ने नए प्राणियों की रचना की, और यह रचना यहां पहले की तरह हुई।
