The English and Hindi are machine translations, not yet reviewed by a scholar. How they are madeये कैसे बने
Shri Ram said, 'O Lord, how did a hundred thoughts arise from one mind? Just as a hundred lamps are lit from one lamp, so are a hundred Rudras created from one dream.'
Shri Vasishta said, 'Those who have pure and unobstructed minds, whatever they imagine, they experience it as real, having the knowledge of the essence of taste.'
Due to the omnipresence of the Supreme Self, whatever is to be experienced in a particular place is experienced there in that manner, and that is known by the intellect in that way.
Sri Rama said: O Brahman, wearing a garland of skulls, covered in ashes, naked, dwelling in the cremation ground, and desirous, how can he be the Lord?
Sri Vasistha said: For the great lords, the perfected ones, and those who are liberated while living, there is no rule of action here. It is indeed imagined by the ignorant.
sujñāstvaniṣṭeṣvananiṣṭeṣu na nimajjanti vastuṣu | yatendriyatvādbudhhatvānnirvāsanatayā tathā || 10 ||
The wise ones do not get immersed in desirable or undesirable things. They remain detached due to the control of the senses, wisdom, and the state of being free from desires.
na nindyamasti nānindyaṃ nopādeyaṃ na heyatā | na cātmīyaṃ na ca paraṃ karma jñaviṣayaṃ kvacit || 13 ||
There is nothing blameworthy or praiseworthy, nothing to be accepted or rejected, nothing that is one's own or another's; action is not within the realm of the knower anywhere.
Just as heat and other qualities are inherent in fire and other elements from the beginning of creation, so are the actions of Shiva and others, and the castes of the twice-born.
I have spoken to you about the fourth state of silence, which is beyond the senses and the body. However, I have not spoken to you about the ultimate silence that is attained while still in the body, O Raghava.
The inner sky of the self, which is pure consciousness, is even more transparent than the sky. The attainment of that is the ultimate good. Listen to how it is attained.
prāṇādyanilasaṃśāntau yuktyā ye padamāgatāḥ | anāmayamanādyantaṃ te smṛtā yogayoginaḥ || 19 ||
Those who have attained the state of tranquility of the vital breaths and other winds through proper means are known as Yoga yogis. They are free from disease and have no beginning or end.
Where the activities of the life force and the mind cease completely, and where the impressions of desires are transcended, know that to be the supreme state.
mano mudhai vābhuditamasadevānavekṣaṇāt | svapne svamaraṇākāraṃ prekṣyamāṇaṃ na vidyate || 25 ||
The mind, being foolish and deluded, does not perceive the unreal due to lack of observation. In a dream, the form of one's own death is seen, but it does not exist.
manobhavastu saṃsāraḥ kva mamāhaṃ kva saṃtatiḥ | upadeśyopadeśādibandhamokṣau ca tatkutaḥ || 26 ||
The world is indeed a creation of the mind | Where is my ego, where is my progeny? | From where do the bonds and liberation through teachings and instructions arise?
The practice of the dense truth of oneness, the dissolution of the life-breaths, and the restraint of the mind—this is the essence of the meaning of the word liberation.
Know that the subtle elements are indeed of the nature of desires | They are connected with the pranas that are of the nature of the mind, not with others
Through knowledge, the mind attains the state of being without desires and its own destruction | It does not take the position of the pranas, hence peace is left
From knowledge, the unreality of all objects arises, and then from the destruction of latent impressions, there is a separation of the vital breath and the mind.
Then the mind does not see the peaceful state of the body, and by its own destruction, it attains the state, and the mind is known only by its impressions.
The mind is indeed only impressions, and in their absence, the supreme state is attained, and the truth is realized through knowledge, and knowledge is said to be inquiry.
Through the practice of single-pointed focus, control of the breath, and the exhaustion of the mind, one attains perfection in one, and thereby all attain perfection together.
Through the practice of the dense reality of oneness, the mind becomes calm and peaceful. Due to the absorption of its nature, the breath also becomes calm.
The mind of those who practice withdrawal becomes absorbed as if the enjoyment is exhausted. It dissolves along with the vital breaths, leaving only the supreme.
Realizing with logical reasoning that this ignorance does not exist, the highest attainment comes from knowledge itself, and then the practice of that knowledge.
cittamātramavidyeti kuru tenaiva tatkṣayam | tadrūpaṃ rāma cittātmā nābhāvo hi paraṃ padam || 56 ||
The mind alone is ignorance; destroy it by the mind itself. That form, O Rama, is the self of the mind; there is no absence, indeed, of the supreme state.
The mind that is free from ignorance is called by the term 'sattva'. That which has burned the seed of worldly existence does not give rise to it again.
Someone who is free from ignorance, established in sattva, with peaceful tendencies, sees the supreme light, which is like emptiness, immediately and becomes calm.
vigalitātmapadaṃ vigalanmanaḥ subhaga sattvamitīha hi kathyate | na punareti kalāmalinaṃ padaṃ kanakatāmiva tāmramupāgatam || 61 ||
The state of a dissolved self and a dissolving mind is indeed considered auspicious and pure here. Just as copper, upon attaining the state of gold, does not return to its impure state.
