श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच । दूराद्दूरमभिप्लुत्य शनैरुच्चैः पदं गते । हस्तं हस्ते समालम्ब्य यान्त्यौ ददृशतुर्नभः ॥ ॥ १ ॥
śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca | dūrāddūramabhiplutya śanairuccaiḥ padaṃ gate | hastaṃ hastē samālambya yāntyau dadṛśaturnabhaḥ || 1 ||
Vasishtha said: Flying farther and farther, slowly rising higher, the two of them, holding hand in hand as they went, saw the sky.
वसिष्ठ बोले: वे दोनों दूर से और दूर उड़ती गईं, धीरे-धीरे ऊँचे स्थान की ओर बढ़ीं, और हाथ में हाथ थामे चलते हुए उन्होंने आकाश को देखा।

It was pleasing and spotless, made gentle by being sunk in the water of emptiness; utterly pure, deep, and clear like the mind of a good person.

There, sweet with the fragrance of mandara-flower garlands worn by siddhas and gandharvas, past the circle of the moon, the two of them enjoyed themselves in the sweet breeze.

At the end of the great summer heat, the two of them bathed in the mass of clouds, crowded with lightning and red lotuses, heavy with a flood of water like a lake.

There great siddhas, swift as thought, came and went faster than the wind, and it hummed with the singing and music of divine women inside the flying palaces.

Somewhere the path of the clouds was thick with a great gathering of huge clouds; elsewhere stood a silent cloud shaped like a painted picture, still and unmoving, like the cloud that appears at the end of an age.

Somewhere the sky glowed red as if the directions themselves were burning, wrapped in a cloud silent as Mount Rishyamuka; somewhere else lay water that was only emptiness, stirring like a windless ocean in turmoil.

Somewhere a flying chariot was tossed about like a blade of grass in the powerful river of wind; somewhere else the sky was spotlessly bright, gleaming like the backs of a moving swarm of bees.
कहीं वायु की प्रचंड नदी में विमान घास के तिनके जैसा उड़ रहा था; कहीं आकाश निर्मल चमक रहा था, जैसे भौंरों के उड़ते हुए झुंड की पीठ की चमक हो।
क्वचिन्मेरुनदीकल्पवातधूलिविधूसरम् । क्वचिद्विमानगीर्वाणप्रभाचित्रबलाङ्गकम् ॥ ३४ ॥
kvacinmerunadīkalpavātadhūlividhūsaram | kvacidvimānagīrvāṇaprabhācitrabalāṅgakam || 34 ||
Somewhere it was grey with dust blown up as if from the river beside Mount Meru; somewhere else its expanse shone bright and colorful with the light of the gods' flying chariots.
कहीं मेरु पर्वत की नदी से उड़ी धूल जैसी धूसर हवा थी; कहीं देवताओं के विमानों की चमक से आकाश का हिस्सा रंग-बिरंगा और चमकदार हो रहा था।
क्वचिन्निरम्बरोन्नृत्तमातृमण्डलमालितम् । क्वचिन्नित्यं नवक्षीबक्षुब्धयोगीश्वरीगणम् ॥ ३५ ॥
kvacinnirambaronnṛttamātṛmaṇḍalamālitam | kvacinnityaṃ navakṣībakṣubdhayogīśvarīgaṇam || 35 ||
Somewhere it was ringed by circles of mother-goddesses dancing naked in the open air; somewhere else there was always a band of yogini-queens, restless and freshly drunk.
कहीं खुले आकाश में नग्न होकर नाचती हुई मातृका देवियों के झुंड से वह घिरा हुआ था; कहीं हमेशा नयी मस्ती में डूबी बेचैन योगिनियों का समूह रहता था।
क्वचिच्छान्तसमाधिस्थविश्रान्तमुनिमालितम्। समं दूरास्तसंरम्भसाधुचित्तमनोहरम् ॥ ३६ ॥
kva cic chānta samādhisthav iśrānta munimālitam| samaṃ dūrāstasaṃrambhasādhucittamanoharam || 36 ||
Somewhere it was ringed by peaceful sages resting deep in meditation, and it was, at the same time, delightful to the calm hearts of good people whose restlessness had gone far away.
कहीं शांत समाधि में लीन, विश्राम करते हुए मुनियों से वह घिरा हुआ था; और साथ ही उन सज्जनों के शांत मन को भी भाता था जिनकी बेचैनी दूर हो चुकी थी।
गायत्किन्नरगन्धर्वसुरस्त्रीमण्डलं क्वचित्। क्वचित्स्तब्धपुराकीर्णं वहत्पुरवरं क्वचित् ॥ ३७ ॥
gāyatkinnaragandharvasurastrīmaṇḍalaṃ kvacit| kvacitstabdhapurākīrṇaṃ vahatpuravaraṃ kvacit || 37 ||
Somewhere circles of kinnara women, gandharva women, and goddesses sang; somewhere else lay old cities standing frozen and still, and somewhere a fine city moved along by itself.
कहीं किन्नरियों, गंधर्व-स्त्रियों और देवियों के झुंड गा रहे थे; कहीं पुरानी नगरियाँ स्थिर और निश्चल पड़ी थीं, और कहीं एक सुंदर नगर स्वयं चल रहा था।
क्वचिद्रुद्रपुरापूर्णं क्वचिद्ब्रह्ममहापुरम्। क्वचिन्मायाकृतपुरं क्वचिदागामिपत्तनम् ॥ ३८ ॥
kvacidrudrapurāpūrṇaṃ kvacidbrahma mahāpuram| kvacinmāyākṛtapuraṃ kvacidāgāmipattanam || 38 ||
Somewhere stood the city of Rudra, somewhere the great city of Brahma; somewhere a city built by illusion, and somewhere a city still to come.
कहीं रुद्र की नगरी थी, कहीं ब्रह्मा की महान नगरी थी; कहीं माया से बनी नगरी थी, और कहीं वह नगरी थी जो अभी आने वाली थी।
क्वचिद्भ्रमच्चन्द्रसरः क्वचित्स्तब्धमयंसरः। क्वचित्सरत्सिद्धगणं क्वचिदिन्दुकृतोदयम् ॥ ३९ ॥
kvacidbhramac candrasaraḥ kvacitstabdhamayaṃsaraḥ| kvacitsaratsiddhagaṇaṃ kvacidindukṛtodayam || 39 ||
Somewhere was a lake with a moon that seemed to wander in it, somewhere a lake standing perfectly still; somewhere a lake flowing with crowds of siddhas, and somewhere a lake where the moon had just risen.
कहीं एक तालाब था जिसमें भटकता हुआ चाँद दिखता था, कहीं एक तालाब बिल्कुल स्थिर पड़ा था; कहीं एक तालाब सिद्धों के समूहों से भरा बह रहा था, और कहीं एक तालाब था जहाँ चाँद अभी-अभी उगा था।
क्वचित्सूर्योदयमयं क्वचिद्रात्रितमोमयम्। क्वचित्संध्यांशुकपिलं क्वचिन्नीहारधूसरम् ॥ ४० ॥
kvacitsūryodayamayaṃ kvacidrātritamomayam| kvacitsaṃdhyāṃśukapilaṃ kvacinnīhāradhūsaram || 40 ||
Somewhere it was all sunrise, somewhere all the darkness of night; somewhere it was tawny with the light of dusk, and somewhere grey with fog.
कहीं सूर्योदय जैसा उजाला था, कहीं रात जैसा घोर अंधेरा था; कहीं संध्या की किरणों से भूरापन था, और कहीं कोहरे से धूसरपन था।
क्वचिद्धिमाभ्रधवलं क्वचिद्वर्षत्पयोधरम्क्वचित्स्थल इवाकाश एव विश्रांतलोकपम् ॥ ४१ ॥
kvaciddhimābhradhavalaṃ kvacidvarṣatpayodharamkvacitsthala ivākāśa eva viśrāntalokapam || 41 ||
Somewhere it was white as a cloud of snow, somewhere a cloud was pouring rain; somewhere, though it was open sky, it felt just like solid ground, and there the guardians of the world had stopped to rest.
कहीं वह बर्फ के बादल जैसा सफेद था, कहीं बादल बरस रहा था; कहीं आकाश होते हुए भी वह ठोस धरती जैसा लगता था, जहाँ लोकपाल विश्राम कर रहे थे।
ऊर्ध्वाधोगमनव्यग्रसुरासुरगणं क्वचित्पूर्वापरोत्तरायाम्यदिक्संचाराकुलं क्वचित् ॥ ४२ ॥
ūrdhvādhogamanavyagrasurāsuragaṇaṃ kvacitpūrvāparottarāyāmyadiksaṃcārākulaṃ kvacit || 42 ||
Somewhere crowds of gods and demons were busy going up and down; somewhere else it was thick with beings rushing about to the east, the west, the north, and the south.
कहीं देवताओं और असुरों के झुंड ऊपर-नीचे जाने में व्यस्त थे; कहीं पूरब, पश्चिम, उत्तर और दक्षिण दिशाओं में जाने वालों की भीड़ से हलचल मची थी।
अपि योजनलक्षाणि क्वचिद्दुष्प्रापभूधरमविनाशितमःपूर्णं दृषद्गर्भोपमं क्वचित् ॥ ४३ ॥
api yojanalakṣāṇi kvacidduṣprāpabhūdharamavināśitamaḥpūrṇaṃ dṛṣadgarbhopamaṃ kvacit || 43 ||
Somewhere, for a hundred thousand yojanas, there was a mountain impossible to reach, packed with a darkness that had never once been broken; somewhere else it was like the inside of solid rock.
कहीं सौ हज़ार योजन तक फैला एक ऐसा पर्वत था जहाँ तक पहुँचना असंभव था, जो ऐसे अंधेरे से भरा था जो कभी टूटा ही नहीं; कहीं वह किसी ठोस पत्थर के भीतरी हिस्से जैसा था।
अविनाशिबृहत्तेजः क्वचिदर्कानलोपमम्हिमानीजटहराशीतं क्वचिच्चन्द्रादिसद्मसु ॥ ४४ ॥
avināśibṛhattejaḥ kvacidarkānalopamamhimānījaṭharāśītaṃ kvaciccandrādisadmasu || 44 ||
Somewhere there was a great, undying blaze of light, like the sun and fire together; somewhere else, in the homes of the moon and the other heavenly bodies, it was as cold as the belly of a glacier.
कहीं सूरज और आग जैसी अविनाशी, तेज़ और बड़ी चमक थी; कहीं चाँद और दूसरे ग्रहों के घरों में हिमनद के भीतरी हिस्से जैसी ठंड थी।
क्वचिद्वहत्पुरोवृत्तकल्पवृक्षलतावनम्क्वचिद्दैत्यहतोत्तुङ्गप्रपतद्देवपत्तनम् ॥ ४५ ॥
kvacidvahatpurovṛttakalpavṛkṣalatāvanamkvaciddaityahatottuṅgaprapataddevapattanam || 45 ||
Somewhere a forest of wishing-tree vines surrounded a city that moved along on its own; somewhere else a tall, splendid city of the gods was falling, struck down by demons.
कहीं कल्पवृक्ष की लताओं का जंगल एक चलते हुए नगर को घेरे हुए था; कहीं देवताओं की एक ऊँची नगरी असुरों की मार से गिर रही थी।
वैमानिकनिपातेन वहिलेखाङ्कितं क्वचित्। क्वचित्केतुशतोत्पातमिथःसंघट्टपट्टितम् ॥ ४६ ॥
vaimānikanipātena vahilekhāṅkitaṃ kvacit| kvacitketuśatotpātamithaḥsaṃghaṭṭapaṭṭitam || 46 ||
Somewhere it was streaked with fire from flying chariots crashing down; somewhere else it was torn apart by hundreds of comets, ill omens colliding with each other.
कहीं गिरते हुए विमानों की आग से लकीरें बन गई थीं; कहीं सैकड़ों अपशकुनी धूमकेतु आपस में टकराकर उसे तहस-नहस कर रहे थे।
क्वचिच्छुभग्रहगणप्रगृहीताग्र्यमण्डलम्। क्वचिद्रात्रितमोव्याप्तं क्वचिद्दिवसभास्वरम् ॥ ४७ ॥
kvacicchubhagrahagaṇapragṛhītāgryamaṇḍalam| kvacidrātritamovyāptaṃ kvaciddivasabhāsvaraṃ || 47 ||
Somewhere its finest region was held by a host of auspicious planets; somewhere it was covered in the dark of night, and somewhere bright with day.
कहीं उसका सबसे सुंदर हिस्सा शुभ ग्रहों के समूह से घिरा हुआ था; कहीं रात के अंधेरे से ढका था, और कहीं दिन के उजाले से चमक रहा था।
क्वचिदुद्गर्जदम्भोदं क्वचिन्मूकामलाम्बुदम्। वातावकीर्णशुक्लाभ्रखण्डपुष्पोत्तरं क्वचित् ॥ ४८ ॥
kvacidudgarjadambhodaṃ kvacinmūkāmalāmbudam| vātāvakīrṇaśuklābhra-khaṇḍapuṣpottaraṃ kvacit || 48 ||
Somewhere a cloud roared loudly, somewhere a cloud was silent and pure; somewhere else pieces of white cloud were scattered by the wind like flowers strewn about.
कहीं एक बादल ज़ोर से गरज रहा था, कहीं एक बादल मौन और निर्मल था; कहीं हवा से बिखरे सफेद बादल के टुकड़े फूलों की तरह फैले हुए थे।
क़्चिदत्यंतनिःशून्यमवदातमनंतरम्। आनन्दमृदुशान्ताभं ज्ञस्येव हृदयं ततम् ॥ ४९ ॥
kacidatyanta-niḥśūnyamavadātamanantaram| ānandamṛduśāntābhaṃ jñasyeva hṛdayaṃ tatam || 49 ||
In one part the sky was completely empty and clear, without any limit. It was spread out soft, calm and full of bliss, like the heart of a man who truly knows.
एक जगह आकाश बिल्कुल खाली और साफ़ था, उसकी कोई सीमा नहीं थी। वह उस ज्ञानी पुरुष के हृदय जैसा फैला हुआ था, जो नरम, शांत और आनंद से भरा होता है।
शुक्रवाहनभेकौघैः क्वचिद्गलकृतारवम्शून्यतावारिवलितं क्षेत्रमाकाशवासिनाम् ॥ ५० ॥
śukravāhanabhekaughaiḥ kvacidgalakṛtāravamśūnyatāvārivalitaṃ kṣetramākāśavāsinām || 50 ||
In one part, crowds of frogs riding the clouds croaked loudly with their throats. That stretch of sky, the home of the sky-dwellers, was wrapped in the water of empty space.
एक जगह बादलों पर सवार मेंढकों के झुंड अपने गले से ज़ोर से टर्रा रहे थे। आकाश का वह हिस्सा, जो आकाश में रहने वालों का घर है, खाली जगह के पानी से घिरा हुआ था।
मयूरहेमचूडादिपक्षिभिः क्वचिदावृतम्विद्याधरीणां देवीनां वाहनैर्विहितास्पदैः ॥ ५१ ॥
mayūrahemacūḍādipakṣibhiḥ kvacidāvṛtamvidyādharīṇāṃ devīnāṃ vāhanairvihitāspadaiḥ || 51 ||
In one part it was covered with peacocks, golden-crested birds and other such birds, and these places had become resting spots for the mounts of the Vidyadhari goddesses.
एक जगह वह मोरों, सुनहरी कलगी वाले पक्षियों और ऐसे ही अन्य पक्षियों से ढका था, और ये जगहें विद्याधर देवियों की सवारियों के ठहरने का स्थान बनी हुई थीं।
क्वचिदभ्रान्तरोन्नृत्यद्गुहमायूरमण्डलम्क्वचिदग्निशुकैः श्यामं शाद्वलानामिव स्थलम् ॥ ५२ ॥
kvacidabhrāntaronnṛtyadguhamāyūramaṇḍalamkvacidagniśukaiḥ śyāmaṃ śādvalānāmiva sthalam || 52 ||
In one part, flocks of peacocks danced high up inside the clouds. In another part, because of fire-parrots it looked dark green, like a meadow of grass.
एक जगह बादलों के भीतर ऊँचे उठकर मोरों के झुंड नाच रहे थे। दूसरी जगह अग्नि-तोतों के कारण वह हरी घास के मैदान जैसा गहरा हरा दिख रहा था।
क्वचित्प्रेतेशमहिषमहिम्ना वामनाम्बुदम्क्वचिदश्वैस्तृणग्रामशङ्काग्रस्तासिताम्बुदम् ॥ ५३ ॥
kvacitpreteśamahiṣamahimnā vāmanāmbudamkvacidaśvaistṛṇagrāmaśaṅkāgrastāsitāmbudam || 53 ||
In one part, a cloud looked small next to the huge size of Yama's buffalo. In another part, horses attacked a dark cloud, mistaking it for a patch of grass.
एक जगह यम की भैंस के विशाल आकार के आगे एक बादल छोटा दिख रहा था। दूसरी जगह घोड़ों ने एक काले बादल को घास का मैदान समझकर उस पर धावा बोल दिया।
क्वचिद्देवपुरव्याप्तम् क्वचिद्दैत्यपुरान्वितमन्योन्याप्राप्यनगरं नगरन्ध्रकरानिलम् ॥ ५४ ॥
kvaciddevapuravyāptaṃ kvaciddaityapurānvitamanyonyāprāpyanagaraṃ nagarandhrakarānilam || 54 ||
In one part it was filled with the cities of the gods, in another with the cities of the demons. These cities could not reach one another, and wind blew through the gaps between them.
एक जगह वह देवताओं के नगरों से भरा था, दूसरी जगह असुरों के नगरों से। ये नगर एक-दूसरे तक नहीं पहुँच पाते थे, और उनके बीच की दरारों से हवा बह रही थी।
क्वचित्कुलाचलाकारनृत्यद्भैरवभासुरम्क्वचित्सपक्षशैलेन्द्रसमनृत्यद्विनायकम् ॥ ५५ ॥
kvacitkulācalākāranṛtyadbhairavabhāsuramkvacitsapakṣaśailendrasamanṛtyadvināyakam || 55 ||
In one part it shone with a dancing, fierce form as large as a great mountain. In another part, a chief danced together with a mountain-king that had wings.
एक जगह वह एक बड़े पर्वत जितने विशाल, नाचते हुए भयानक रूप से चमक रहा था। दूसरी जगह एक प्रमुख देवता पंखों वाले पर्वत-राजा के साथ नाच रहा था।
क्वचिद्धर्घरवातौघपक्षप्रोड्डीनपर्वतम् । क्वचिद्गन्धर्वनगरसुरस्त्रीवृन्दबन्धुरम् ॥ ५६ ॥
kvaciddhargharavātaughapakṣaproḍḍīnaparvatam | kvacidgandharvanagarasurastrīvṛndabandhuram || 56 ||
In one part, a mountain flew up on wings, driven by a mass of roaring wind. In another part, it was charming with crowds of celestial women and cities of the Gandharvas.
एक जगह गरजती हुई हवा के झोंकों से एक पर्वत पंख लगाकर उड़ रहा था। दूसरी जगह वह गंधर्वों के नगरों और देवांगनाओं की भीड़ से सुंदर लग रहा था।
क्वचिद्वहद्गिरिध्वस्तवृक्षलक्षोच्छ्रिताम्बुदम् । क्वचिन्मायाकृताकाशनलिनीजलशीतलम् ॥ ५७ ॥
kvacidvahadgiridhvastavṛkṣalakṣocchritāmbudam | kvacinmāyākṛtākāśanalinījalashītalam || 57 ||
In one part, clouds rose high, carrying hundreds of thousands of trees that a flying mountain had shaken loose. In another part, it was cool with the water of an illusory lotus-pond made in the sky.
एक जगह उड़ते हुए पर्वत से गिराए गए लाखों पेड़ों को लिए बादल ऊँचे उठे हुए थे। दूसरी जगह आकाश में बनाए गए मायावी कमल-सरोवर के जल से वह ठंडा था।
क्वचिदिन्दुकराकृष्टिशीतलाह्लादमारुतम् । क्वचित्तप्तानिलादग्धद्रुमपर्वतवारिदम् ॥ ५८ ॥
kvacidindukarākṛṣṭiśītalāhlādamārutam | kvacittaptānilādagdhadrumaparvatavāridam || 58 ||
In one part, the moon's rays drew out a cool, delightful breeze. In another part, a hot wind had scorched the trees and mountains, yet rain still fell there.
एक जगह चाँद की किरणों से खिंची हुई ठंडी, सुखद हवा बह रही थी। दूसरी जगह गर्म हवा से झुलसे हुए पेड़ों और पहाड़ों पर भी वर्षा हो रही थी।
क्वचिदत्यन्तसंशान्तवातादेकान्तनिर्ध्वनि । क्वचित्पर्वततुल्याभ्रशिखाकूटशतोदयम् ॥ ५९ ॥
kvacidatyantasaṃśāntavātādekāntanirdhvani | kvacitparvatatulyābhraśikhākūṭaśatodayam || 59 ||
In one part, the wind had died down completely, so there was total silence. In another part, hundreds of cloud-peaks rose up, like the peaks of mountains.
एक जगह हवा पूरी तरह थम गई थी, इसलिए वहाँ पूरा सन्नाटा था। दूसरी जगह पहाड़ों की चोटियों जैसे सैकड़ों बादलों के शिखर उठे हुए थे।
क्वचित्प्रावृड्भवोन्मत्तघनाभ्ररवघर्घरम् । क्वचित्सुरासुरगणप्रवृत्तरणदुगमम् ॥ ६० ॥
kvacitprāvṛḍbhavonmattaghanābhraravaghargharam | kvacitsurāsuragaṇapravṛttaraṇadugamam || 60 ||
In one part, there was a rumbling roar of thick clouds grown wild with the rainy season. In another part, it was hard to pass through, because a battle was raging between the armies of gods and demons.
एक जगह बरसात के मौसम में उन्मत्त हुए घने बादलों की गरजती हुई गड़गड़ाहट थी। दूसरी जगह देवताओं और असुरों की सेनाओं के बीच युद्ध चल रहा था, इसलिए वहाँ से गुज़रना कठिन था।
क्वचिद्व्योमाब्जिनीहंसीस्वनाहूताब्जवाहनम्। क्वचिन्मन्दाकिनीतीरनलिनीलुण्ठकानिलम् ॥ ६१ ॥
kvacidvyomābjinīhaṃsīsvanāhūtābjavāhanam| kvacinmandākinītīranalinīluṇṭhakānilam || 61 ||
In one part, the cries of female swans on a lotus-pond in the sky seemed to call out to the lotus-riding god. In another part, the wind was robbing the lotuses on the bank of the heavenly river Mandakini.
एक जगह आकाश के कमल-सरोवर पर हंसिनियों की आवाज़ मानो कमल पर सवार देवता को बुला रही थी। दूसरी जगह हवा मंदाकिनी नदी के किनारे के कमलों को लूट रही थी।
स्वशरीरेण गङ्गादिसरितां सन्निधानतः। प्रोड्डीनमत्स्यमकरकुलीराम्बुजकूर्मकम् ॥ ६२ ॥
svaśarīreṇa gaṅgādisaritāṃ sannidhānataḥ| proḍḍīnamatsyamakarakulīrāmbujakūrmakam || 62 ||
Because that part of the sky was close to rivers like the Ganges, it held within itself fish, crocodiles, crabs, lotuses and tortoises, all flying up through it.
आकाश का वह हिस्सा गंगा जैसी नदियों के नज़दीक होने के कारण अपने भीतर मछलियाँ, मगरमच्छ, केकड़े, कमल और कछुए लिए हुए था, जो उसमें उड़ते हुए दिखाई दे रहे थे।
पातालगार्कजनितभूच्छायाकाकचोपनैः। क्वचित्क्वचिन्मण्डलेषु ग्रस्तचन्द्रार्कमण्डलम् ॥ ६३ ॥
pātālagārkjanitabhūcchāyākākacopanaiḥ| kvacitkvacinmaṇḍaleṣu grastacandrārkamaṇḍalam || 63 ||
In one part, because the sun had gone down into the underworld, the earth's shadow fell there; and here and there, in some regions, the disc of the moon or the sun looked as if it had been seized, as in an eclipse.
एक जगह सूरज के पाताल में चले जाने से धरती की छाया पड़ी हुई थी, और कहीं-कहीं, कुछ हिस्सों में, चंद्रमा या सूरज का गोला ऐसा दिख रहा था मानो ग्रहण में पकड़ा गया हो।
क्वचित्सर्गानिलाधूतमायाकुसुमकाननम्। पतत्पुष्पहिमासारत्रसद्वैमानिकाङ्गनम् ॥ ६४ ॥
kvacitsargānilādhūtamāyākusumakānanam| patatpuṣpahimāsāratrasadvaimānikāṅganam || 64 ||
In one part there was an illusory forest of flowers, shaken by the wind of creation. Falling flowers came down like a shower of snow, and the women riding in the sky-chariots were frightened by it.
एक जगह सृष्टि की हवा से हिलता हुआ एक मायावी फूलों का वन था। गिरते हुए फूल बर्फ़ की बौछार जैसे नीचे आ रहे थे, और विमानों में बैठी स्त्रियाँ उससे डर गई थीं।
उदुम्बरोदरमशकक्रमभ्रमज्जगत्त्रयान्तरगतभूतसंचयम्। विलङ्घ्य तद्वरललने खमुच्चकैर्महीतलं पुनरपि गन्तुमुद्यते ॥ ६५ ॥
udumbarodaramaśakakramabhramajjagattrayāntaragatabhūtasaṃcayam| vilaṅghya tadvaramalalane khamuccakairmahītalaṃ punarapi gantumudyate || 65 ||
O excellent lady, crossing high above through the sky, past the mass of beings who move about within the three worlds like tiny gnats inside the hollow of a fig fruit, she was now setting out once again to go down to the earth.
हे श्रेष्ठ स्त्री, तीनों लोकों के भीतर उन जीवों की भीड़ को पार करके, जो अंजीर के फल के भीतर मच्छरों की तरह घूमते रहते हैं, वह आकाश में बहुत ऊँचाई से गुज़रकर अब फिर से धरती की ओर जाने को तैयार हो गई थी।
